I’m an AGGIE!!!

Wow…This has been the LONGEST and I mean LONGEST WEEK of my life.  But whoa have I grown in a week.  I now really see how missionaries grow SOO much in such a short amount of time.

SO last Saturday I packed my cute yellow car (which I haven’t named yet and it’s irked me) and I drove the two hour drive to Logan.  Just driving into the city feels like home!  It’s a beautiful feeling.  I checked in, moved into the 3rd FLOOR WITH NO ELEVATOR that was enough adventure lugging up allllll of my stuff.  Ok so if I it’s not to much bragging I LOVE LOVE LOVE my room :)  It turned out great, so me, my mom and I collected stuff all summer long take a look!

Live Laugh Love

My parents helped me set up then we said our goodbyes.  It’s amazing how much easier saying goodbye is when you feel the spirit so strongly that this is where you are MEANT to be at this very time.  My father gave me a blessing and I was ready to be the best I could be in the college world.  They left, and I was alone with Michaela our other roommates didn’t come for a while.  Later after I unpacked and was all settled I went to Aggie Ice cream with Meghan Boles it was the perfect way to celebrate the fact that I was indeed. An Aggie. :)

Day 2 Sunday

On Sunday I woke up, made my bed (new lovely college goals ha-ha) and then I got ready for my first day of church.  WHOA I HAVE THE BESTEST WARD.  I have already made lasting amazing amazing friendships.  They are just the salt of the earth.  I have loved my new friendship with Mandy, Sarah, and Jaret they are loves.  My bishop is so cool.  He is sooo fun.  The entire bishopric is the bomb.  For the rest of the day I just read and made new friends!  It’s lonely when all your roommates haven’t moved in so I went and made some friends!  that’s just what you have to do here at college.  That night I had ward prayer.  I’m officially loving college.

Day 3 Monday

FIRST DAY OF AGGIE BLUE!!!!!  The leadership conference that is simply incredible.  It was such a fantastic day.  I met people that I just clicked with and learned from.  I somehow also met certain friends that I didn’t realize would be besties by the end of the week.  We had special speakers, activities, and wonderful food.  I got really homesick at nighttime…BUT in my Aggie Blue Group we had a confessional thing and it was so spiritual which is sooo cool because it’s not even a church school.  three are so many missionary opportunities here. So I left happy. I came home to my roommates and we just talked and had a jolly good time.

Day 4 Tuesday

LAST DAY OF AGGIE BLUE!!!!  Today we wore our lovely shirts, and were all SO TIRED.  College level stuff is exhausting for sure.  I met even more wonderful people today though.  That’s what I love about this. I’m not at home, and I’m almost forced (by myself) to meet new people.  There are so many wonderful beautiful people in this world!  And I love meeting them.  We again had great fun.  Oh I met our Student Body President today and he is simply amazing.  Perfect example of a Christ like person.  I found out not to long ago that he is also my peer mentor and that makes me sooo grateful and happy that I have such a great example there for me.  We went to this huge soccer field had dinner and he spoke to us.  It’s exactly what I needed to hear because I was really missing my friends especially the friends in leadership.  I wanted to share these experiences with them.  That’s what I find myself wanting.  To share my joy with everyone I love! It’s just time to share it with new people i love.  After Aggie blue my roommates and I just sat and talked…while I wrote a 5 page paper. blah. ha-ha.

Day 5 Wednesday

Today was the first day of my CONNECTIONS class!  IT was really fun.  I am in Leadership connections so it’s really awesome and an honor!  We got together as a group and drew what we would be if we were a house.  For example what is our foundations, how we show people who we are (window), how we relax and blow some steam (the chimney) etc.…  We then all shared it with each other.  I then ate lunch with Daniel, Natasha, and Conner it was so fun!  I love meeting new wonderful friends.  The rest of the class was sort of boring, not going to lie but we managed!  After all that my roommates and I decided to go out and have a blast walking around before the dance!  We had a really good time.  Then I ran into a friend from high school…and well that is a story that just is to long to put down.  I missed most of the dance meeting new people but then I went back.  Lets just say I MISS HIGH SCHOOL DANCES. Less crazy and more fun.

Day 6 Thursday

Second day of connections and let me tell you a 6 hour class IS SO LONG.  Today was the more boring day except we got to do our “stuff” in the SENATE CHAMBERS of the school and boy it’s so cool.  Where USU history is born.  I’ve loved being in that room.  We walked a FOREVER long distance to the recycling center and oh my trulla it was awful.  SO hot.  And the tour was dreadfully boring.  But I met my twin Courtney today!  We have the same major, we think so similarly and I just love her!  Talk about friends in heaven.  Later  that night I just was so tired I just chilled at home with my roommates it was a lot of great fun!  I love living with my cousin Kelsey!  It’s the adventure we’ve always wanted.  Heavenly Father knows what He’s doing  that is for sure.

Day 7 Friday

Ok now this was SUCH A GREAT DAY.  For connections we had to wear our new spirit shirts so we all matched that was really cool.  For lunch Daniel, Natasha, Tanner, Jonathan and I went to the Skyroom aka nice restaurant at USU, for lunch.  the most amazing $3.50 I’ve ever spent.  Unlimited soup and bread.  DELICIOUS.  We felt super cool for being there.

That was sooo much fun.  Later that night we had what was called “Taste of Logan.”  It’s where the popular restaurants open their doors to USU students to sample there food.  It was a blast.  I went with Kelsey and Jaret then we met up with Daniel and Natasha.  We just had a great time talking, laughing, and just being friends.  I love how you find people and the next day you feel like you’ve known them forever it’s so neat.

WE had a blast!

Later that night Daniel, Natasha and I went to hang out but Natasha wasn’t feeling good.  So we took her home then Daniel took me to this awesome tree that had the perfect view of Old Main and the Logan temple.  It was so cool in that tree.  We talked for a really long time.  He’s such a great guy and I know that he’s going to be such a great friend to me.  We talked til about 1…haha USU = no cerfew Smile  then we went to my apartment WHERE I WAS LOCKED OUT.   Oops that was an adventure of itself!  We scared Kelsey to death knocking on the window. SORRY KELSEY! but it was a great night Smile

Day 8 Saturday

Now today was good and bad.  But mainly good Smile  In the morning as a connections class we went to hear Luma Mufleh speak.  she was the “star” of the book we had to read all summer and it was a great experience.  Throughout the week my whole face has progressively been going numb and today it was getting pretty scary so I decided to go to the doctors.  It was then that I realized that the doc’s office was closed. Sad smile So I went and got a blessing from my bishop.  Isn’t it amazing that the gospel is the same everywhere you go?!  I find it to be such an amazing thing!  then my mom had a feeling to come visit me!  Not just a simple drive and meet and greet.  She brought lots of decorations that made our apartment look like a home.  Thanks mom we love it!  Then my face started getting REALLY bad so my mom took me to the emergency room.  Now for those of you who don’t know me that well I HATE BLOOD. IT’S NOT FUN.  I just ew didn’t like it.  I was in the hospital for 4 hours!  so long.  I got an MRI SCARY, and they did really strange random tests on me.  They thought that I either had a hole in my heart, MS, or a mini stroke.  Ya, not a big deal at all. Confused smile haha.  I had peace the entire time though so I didn’t worry.  As they wheeled me out of the MRI Tyler Toulsen my student body president and peer mentor was sitting in my hospital room with YELLOW flowers, and Charleston Chews.  My favorites!!  Now this was A WAY big deal because at the same time was the big leadership meeting at the school that he was in charge of.  It meant the world to me that he cared enough to check up on me.  He stayed and talked to me for an hour to.  He’s such an amazing man, I’m so glad to know him!  they later released me because they couldn’t figure me out.  Great… So I went home and THEN my new friends in my connections class were all getting together for dinner at chilis and I went with them.  they had a big bouquet of flowers for me and they had the sweetest card.  This is such an amazing place USU.  I’m surrounded by such wonderful people!  today was wonderful and full of blessings of friendship!
